Welcome to DancingHelewa.com. Let me take you on a journey..... A journey into
the world of Raks Sharki, Danse Orientale, or more commonly known as
Bellydance! Helewa, always a dance enthusiast began studying dance at a young
age. It was her first visit to the Museum of Natural History where Helewa became
entranced when seeing a bellydancer for the very first time. The impression left
from seeing her was a memorable one to say the least. It was at that point she
knew she wanted to learn more, but the chance wouldn't come until years later
when she found a class being offered at a local adult school. Helewa jumped at the
chance and signed up for the class without hesitation. From that class her passion
for bellydance began to unfold and she joined her first dance troupe, Troupe
Zaghereet. After that troupe folded, in 1999, Helewa became a proud member of
Chadia and the Gypsy Caravan. Helewa is also solo professional dancer and
dances at many of the local restaurants in the area and performs for numerous
